About the Process

Each year, Coliving Awards undergoes a rigorous evaluation process to define the most relevant categories in the evolving coliving landscape. The categories introduced in each edition are a direct response to feedback from the broader shared living community. To support applicants in selecting the most suitable category for their project(s), we provide a detailed category description, outline the intended audience for each category, and specify the criteria our jury will assess.

Be sure to download the Application Guidelines and Presentation Template provided for each category. These resources outline the five evaluation criteria, along with a set of questions that applicants must address for each. Our expert jury panel assesses every application based on these criteria, using a points system and a rationale-based evaluation to determine the final results. We recognise that every project is unique, and certain nuances may need to be considered. While we’ve carefully designed the evaluation questions to accommodate different approaches, if you're unsure whether your project fits within a specific category, feel free to reach out to us—we’re happy to assist.

At this stage, you're ready to begin the application process. It’s essential to submit your application within the same tier in which you signed up, so we strongly recommend preparing in advance. That’s why we provide clear Application Guidelines and a Presentation Template, allowing you to get everything in order before signing up and applying.

If you need additional time to submit your application but have already registered in a previous tier, you will be required to upgrade your tier to match the actual submission period. You can find all tier deadlines and key dates on our timeline page.

Once you sign up to the application portal, you'll gain access to detailed instructions on how to complete your application, including filling out your applicant profile with company information and following the necessary steps to submit your project.

You can apply for multiple categories or submit multiple projects within the same category. Additional submissions can be easily purchased through the portal and will automatically be linked to your participant profile.

As with your first submission, the application fee for each additional project must correspond to the tier in which it is submitted. If you choose to apply with a second project in a later tier than your first, the submission fee for the additional application will be slightly higher.

Lastly, being selected as a finalist—or even winning—in multiple categories is entirely possible, increasing your chances of gaining momentum and visibility across diverse industry verticals.

We understand that the time between submitting your application and receiving updates—whether on eligibility, finalist nominations, or the awards ceremony—can feel long. That’s because we take great care in reviewing every submission in detail, ensuring a fair and thoughtful evaluation process. As much as possible, we will keep you informed through the portal and via email about your status - but you can of course always reach out to us to enquire!

Once applications are submitted, we conduct an internal review to verify that they meet the established criteria and include all required materials, such as project images, descriptions, and a completed presentation with responses to the evaluation questions. Applicants will be notified of their confirmed eligibility or asked to provide any missing information or files.

All eligible entries are then passed on to our lead jury members, who thoroughly assess each application and determine the first round of finalist nominations. From this stage, the final winners will be determined by a combination of public voting and jury panel scores and announced during the Coliving Awards Ceremony.

If you are selected as a finalist or receive an honourable mention, we will support you during the public voting period by providing promotional assets to help you gain visibility. Throughout the process, we are committed to keeping you informed and ensuring that every application receives the attention it deserves.
