Project Description
Stockholm Studios is a blended living-working ecosystem co-created by intellectuals – residents, community and corporate stakeholders. A venue for social, design and business experiments, a local cultural center in Irpin' town, a home base of PlaceR incubator for founders of impact places.
For 5 years we have been hosting guests of all ages and nationalities from creative and IT sector, entrepreneurs and tourists from 1-day to 3-year+ stays. The model proved sustainable in COVID and results in 5 positive effects for community and the operator: 1. inflow of new interesting people who come to 'sample' coliving and make friends/partnerships with residents or convert into residents 2. desire to set up colivings all over the country and lead a sharing lifestyle, which we support by consulting and integrating into coliving community 3. the off-site community is times bigger and interconnected 4. guests learn from our innovation experience and change their living environment 5. manageable ratio of long and short stays during the high and low season brings flexibility and dynamic tariffs. Our operations and value chain rely on lean hospitality and circular economy principles. Blended format: family-run coliving+hotel+event space+impact places incubator, where owners' family live in the same house.
"The next Big Story" is the first public space in Ukraine created by Active House Alliance architect. We partner with and host creative, educational and philosophical projects. Our open cinema parties, cooking evenings, design gatherings and local markets connect the community. We pursue #11 and #17 sustainability goals as a role model in the residential and hospitality sector, help local authorities to develop the tourist brand. Together with a local official we created the first tourist bike route in Irpin'. Our coworking space opposite a pine wood is open for neighbours and helps to cut pressure on roads, CO2 exhausts and increases working efficiency as opposed to offices in the capital city. Keeping locals in town we say: You can do more with less! Elena, the owner, is Co-Liv ambassador. Wellbeing: the house has eleven 30 sq.m. studio flats with a kitchenette. A shared kitchen, a lobby and a coffee point on the ground floor, grill areas and sunbeds, a fireplace in the garden are community meeting points facing a large forest. Potable water from every tap is filtered by a system produced and invented by Ecosoft company located in our town. Orthopedic mattresses were hand-made 8 miles from our house.
